IOP event kick-off - making use of CGMES 3.0.

Intro

On February 13th, 2023, int:net held the kick-off event of a new workshop series. The topic of the series is the harmonisation of interoperability (IOP) activities on energy services. There were more than 50 participants in attendance representing many different stakeholders involved in the activities, including TSOs, DSOs, Vendors and research institutions.

The meeting started with the presentation of the int:net project overview, focused mainly on project scope, objectives, outcomes and partners. The presentation was given by the project leader Alberto Dognini (Fraunhofer FIT, Assistant Project Coordinator).

What was discussed?

Demos were discussed and it was suggested that live data should be used for testing. This suggestion was well received, as having live data would allow TSOs and DSOs to have internal discussions, share data and ensure confidentiality.

Another topic which was discussed was having models exported by different tools. Some participants suggested to start with a variety of models, as it has been demonstrated that "native" modelling yields positive results.

Next Steps

Following on from the event there will be weekly online meetings (Mondays from 16:30 to 17:30 CET), that will serve as preparation for a hackathon and public presentation in Brussels on May 16th and 17th, 2023. Through these webinars participants will receive the necessary information background, with 1 or 2 calls dedicated to specific topics.
